Creepy, Weird, and . . .

A friend called me this week, because we share the same favorite hymn - "Be thou My Vision."

It's a hymn that's not even known to all Christians (unfortunately). But, it's been discovered by the creators of Saw V.

I'm not going to see this movie. I don't do blood and gore. Tell me what you think of the merger of the hymn and this trailer.

ummm..........can we say sacreligious???!!!! Not just the song but the graphics....

That? is just WRONG.

One of my favorite hymns. But there is no accounting for taste in people.

Not my kind of movie - but I am reminded that I am not supposed to judge others.

But I do anyway........

And I think this is tasteless and moronic.

How did the producers gain permission to use the hymn for this movie?

I would ask for an internal investigation and the dismissal of the person or persons responsible for poor decision.

Very disturbing, that's all I can say. I watched the first Saw movie because so many of my students were talking about seeing it (5th graders!!. Our society produces some very disturbing "entertainment". I can't say I'm really surprised that they're using the hymn now. In Greek literature, "tension gets attention", and this surely will get some attention, right?
