Food Pantry Desperately Needs Contributions

The Edwards Street Fellowship Center's Food Pantry is in desperate need of the following:

• Money to buy food for the pantry
• Basic Canned Goods
• Basic staples - rice, dry beans, grits, corn meal mix, instant potatoes, etc.
• Canned meats, soups, stews, chicken & dumplings
• Peanut Butter

The amount of food Edwards Street Food Pantry is able to get from the Miss. Food Network has decreased tremendously, as the surplus food supply in the U.S. has decreased. The alarming statistic is the number of new families applying for help every week. Edwards Street Food Pantry is currently serving about 125 families each week, which is about 500-600 families every month, and the number is growing.

All contributions are greatly appreciated. Monetary contributions to be used to purchase food for the pantry may be sent to:

May 18:Come and See

We take our final look at the story of Jesus and the woman at the well, observing how the disciples and the woman react to the gift of living water. While the disciples try to protect Jesus, the woman encourages everyone she meets to “come and see.” Too often, we find ourselves trying to protect Jesus; protect our own faith. We waste the living water, instead of offering it to others.

Spring Blood Drive

Thanks to all those who rolled up their sleeves and donated blood during our May 4 drive and also to the volunteers who helped with this annual event.

We barely missed our church goal and are making a final plea to all who may be able to give. If you can give, please stop by the United Blood Services before Friday,  May 16, and make sure to let them know it is for Parkway Heights.
