Visiting?

We know visiting a new place can be overwhelming and maybe a bit intimidating. Here are some questions and answers that might be helpful.

What time are the worship services and what are they like?

Our contemporary worship service takes place at 8:30 a.m. on Sundays. This service, which is a little more laid-back, is held in Founders Hall and features our Praise Band.

Our traditional worship service begins on Sundays at 10:45 a.m. and ends around 11:45 a.m. Our choir sings during this service, which takes place in the Sanctuary.

Both of our worship services are livestreamed on various platforms, including here on our website.

We also offer a Recovery Ministry service. The Fellowship for Recovery and Spirituality meets on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. (located at 2180 Oak Grove Road in Hattiesburg). Learn more and watch some services live on its Facebook page.

Do you have Sunday School for all ages? When and where are classes?

Yes! Sunday School classes for adults and children as young as three meet from 9:40-10:30 a.m.

Preschool classes are located on the first floor. Elementary classes and are located on the second floor, on the east side of the building; and junior high, high school and college classes are located on the second floor, on the west side of the building. Adult classes are located on the third floor. View the list of adult classes and room numbers

Do you offer a nursery? How do I know my children are safe there?

Yes, our nursery is offered for children ages six weeks through Pre-K during worship services, Sunday School and special activities. Parkway Heights places the utmost importance on your children's safety and well-being. The nursery check-in station is located on the right side of the Atrium. Visitors and members need to check in their children before taking them to a classroom. View our child protection policy here

May my child come to worship, or do you have children's church?

We do not have a special children's service during worship. Your children are welcome to come to the service with you! We love hearing the sounds of children in worship!

Do you have a map of your building?

Yes! View a map and a visitors guide here

What should I wear to church?

Come as you are! At Parkway Heights, you will see a wide variety of clothing being worn on Sunday mornings! Some may be in their favorite T-shirt and jeans, while others will be in their "Sunday Best." You are welcome to wear whatever makes you comfortable!

Is someone going to show up at my house on Sunday afternoon if I fill out the visitor information?

This is an easy one - no. We will definitely not show up at your house, but you might receive an email or card. That's why we would love to have your contact information. We want to offer our assistance and have you feel welcomed but not overwhelmed.

How often do you serve communion, and who may come forward to receive it?

We typically celebrate communion in our two main worship services on the first Sunday of each month. Everyone who would like to receive communion is invited and welcome to receive it. We also encourage families to take communion together. Many parents get their children from the nursery to have them celebrate communion with them.

Is coffee available?

Yes! You can find regular and decaf coffee in the Atrium (the big open area when you come in the main doors) and in Founders Hall on Sunday mornings.

Do you video your worship services?

Yes! Both our worship services are livestreamed each week via our Facebook page, here on our website, on YouTube, on AppleTV and through Roku. You can also find archived videos of past services for the past few months. You can listen to past sermons via our website or iTunes.
