Bible Studies & Small Groups

Christians grow best when they worship together, grow through study and small groups and serve amongst our neighbors. We encourage you to look through this list of small groups and studies and get involved. If you’re already active in worship, let’s take the next step and grow together.

Most of our Bible studies and small groups run for about six weeks in either the fall or spring. Sunday School classes for all ages meet every Sunday at 9:40 a.m. We also encourage everyone to "band together" and become part of a small group. Groups can be as small as three people, and you can meet in person or electronically. Learn more about banding together

IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT

Led by Keith Keeton

Sundays, 5:30 p.m. - Beginning February 15

Room 315

It’s the last book of the Bible, but it's often one of the most confusing and avoided. In fact, it almost didn’t make it in the Bible at all. It’s time we take a deeper look at this apocalyptic literature. What does it have to do with us today? What does God have to say to a suffering community? What might a new world look like?

John’s Revelation depicts the plight of early Christian communities suffering persecution in Asia Minor. We’ll explore ideas of faithfulness, hardship, community, hope and desperation. Hopefully, you’ll gain a better understanding of this important biblical addition.

Join us beginning February 15 at 5:30 p.m. for a 4-6 week study as we ask what the book of Revelation might be trying to tell us.

LESSONS FROM JOSEPH: FAITHFULNESS IN WORK & LIFE

Led by Randy Pope and Dr. Al Erisman

Saturday, Feb. 21, 9 a.m.-11:30 a.m.

at the home of Randy and Kathy Pope

Everyone is invited to join Dr. Al Erisman, chair of the Theology of Work Project and the retired director of technology for the Boeing Company, for a discussion on connecting our faith to our daily work. We will use the life of Joseph (Genesis) as a case study on how to handle success as well as failure at work, how to live a life of integrity in our work and how to gain perspective on the purpose and meaning of our work.

We'll meet for breakfast at 9 a.m. and end at 11:30 a.m. Everyone is welcome, but space is limited. Reach out to Susan Eaton with any questions.

Rest for our Souls: Heal Chronic Stress & Live in God’s Peace

Led by Anna Valentine

Sundays, 5:30 p.m. - February 15, 22 & March 1, 8

In this four-week series, we’ll explore how God created our minds, bodies and spirits to work together. We’ll talk about our nervous system (how our bodies respond to stress and safety), how relationships shape us, and how God designed us for secure, loving connection with Him and with others. This series is for anyone who wants to better understand themselves, grow in emotional and spiritual health and experience deeper peace, trust and connection with God in everyday life.

WE ARE THE CHURCH... LET'S ACT LIKE IT: A STUDY IN THE BOOK OF ACTS

Led by Susan Eaton

Mondays, 10 a.m. - March 9-30

Room 303

In this study, we'll take a closer look at the early Church and learn from its example. The people mentioned in Acts were the first followers of Christ, and their story was the beginning of the work of the Holy Spirit in the Church as we know it. How did these early churches get it right, and where did they stumble? What can we learn from their experiences of bringing the gospel into the world that might help us be better disciples in our world today?

Cost for the book is $10.
